Citizens in Plateau State have commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the peaceful and orderly conduct of the bye-election in Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency of the state.
The bye-elections were held today 26th February 2022 for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and Pankshin South State Constituency in Plateau state
Though some residents of the constituency decried voter apathy in some communities in Jos metropolis, however, the general turnout was fairly good and observed by this medium with adequate security in most of the polling units in the constituency.
Most of the persons who spoke to our correspondent commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the early arrival of election materials with the biometric scanners functioning without complaints.
The simultaneous accreditation and voting were also highly commendable as they decongested the polling units and made the election peaceful.
The election has been very peaceful, without any report of violence anywhere with voters exercising their franchise without any intimidation whatsoever.
With some results beginning to come in from various polling units and activities at the collation center, there is so much anticipation on the final result being announced with the winner known in a matter of some hours.
