Suspected bandits have released a disturbing video showing an abducted couple and their six-month-old baby girl in captivity in Kaduna State, while demanding a ransom of ₦300 million for their release.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on Monday, October 5, 2026, when armed men invaded Alrahus Estate in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
In the footage circulating online, the abducted man, identified as Ahmad Abubakar Zakka, is seen sitting beside his wife, who is holding their infant daughter. One of the armed captors is seen pointing a rifle at the man’s head as he appeals to Nigerians for help.
Zakka, who appeared distressed, identified himself in the video and pleaded with members of the public to intervene to secure his family’s freedom.
He disclosed that the kidnappers were demanding ₦300 million as ransom, appealing for assistance to enable them to reunite with their loved ones.
The video has raised fresh concerns over the safety of the victims, particularly the infant, who remains in captivity alongside her parents.
The abduction reportedly occurred during an attack in which the gunmen moved from house to house, searching for residents to abduct. A pregnant woman was also reportedly kidnapped during the incident.
The husband of the pregnant woman, Abdulladir Bello, had earlier narrated how his wife alerted him to the attack while he was in Abuja. He said he contacted security personnel, prompting a military response to the area.
The latest development has renewed concerns about insecurity in Kaduna State, where residents have continued to face threats from armed groups and kidnapping for ransom.
As of the time of reporting, there was no confirmed information on the release of the couple and their baby or whether negotiations with the kidnappers had yielded any results.
