Former Plateau State Governor and elder statesman, Jonah David Jang, has congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party for what he described as the successful conduct of its primary elections across the country, including Plateau State.

In a statement issued by his Media Consultant, Clinton Garuba, Jang commended the party for the peaceful and organized exercise, which produced Sunday Garba Biggs as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 general election in Plateau State.

According to the former governor, the conduct of the PDP primaries demonstrated a high level of organization, coordination, and unity within the party.

Jang contrasted the PDP’s primary election process with that of other political parties, describing the difference as “like night and day.” He said the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to democratic principles and the supremacy of the people’s will.

He alleged that while some parties were characterized by imposition and irregularities, the PDP provided a transparent platform where party members freely expressed their choices.

The former governor also called on individuals he described as factional members within the PDP to put the interest of the party and the nation above personal ambitions.

He maintained that the PDP in Plateau State remains united under the leadership of Raymond Dabo and urged members to work together to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.

Jang further encouraged Nigerians to continue believing in the PDP, insisting that the party has consistently demonstrated a commitment to prioritizing the welfare and aspirations of citizens.

Despite the economic and social challenges facing the country, he expressed optimism that better days lie ahead, describing the PDP as a credible alternative capable of addressing the nation’s problems.

The former governor also urged Plateau residents to remain vigilant and determined in the lead-up to the 2027 elections, stressing the importance of protecting the democratic process and ensuring that the votes of the people count.

He noted that just as voters defended their mandates during the 2023 general elections, they must remain committed to safeguarding their electoral choices in future polls.

Jang reaffirmed his confidence in the PDP’s ability to provide effective leadership and called on party faithful to remain united as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
