Iran has unveiled a massive billboard in its capital, Tehran, carrying a direct threat against United States President Donald Trump amid the ongoing tensions between both countries.
The billboard, displayed at the busy Enghelab Square, bears the words, “We will kill Trump,” and features an image of the US president behind bars with his head bowed.
The latest display is part of a series of anti-Trump messages and public exhibitions that have appeared across Tehran since the war began on February 28, following US and Israeli strikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
At Tajrish Square in northern Tehran, an open-air exhibition also features paintings depicting Trump in disturbing scenes, including one showing him lying bloodied on the ground beneath a foot. A life-sized replica of a prison cell, with an actor impersonating the US president inside, is also on display.
Iran has accused Trump of deliberately targeting civilian locations during the conflict, including a school and a wedding ceremony, with dozens of people reportedly killed.
The billboard comes as diplomatic efforts continue to bring Tehran and Washington back to negotiations to prevent a renewed outbreak of fighting. Trump has expressed optimism about a possible agreement, saying a deal “could happen.”
State-sponsored billboards and public displays have long been used in Iran to communicate political messages, particularly against the United States and Israel.
