Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Frank Edwards, has shared a personal encounter with the late evangelist, Rev. Uma Ukpai, recalling how the revered cleric healed him of asthma and pneumonia when he was a child.
The family of Rev. Ukpai, founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, announced his passing on Monday, stating that he died on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.
Since the announcement, tributes have continued to pour in from religious leaders, followers, and Nigerians across social media platforms.
Joining the chorus of mourners, Frank Edwards took to his Instagram page to express his gratitude and share how Ukpai’s ministry transformed his life.
“At age 8, I got healed of asthma and pneumonia in one of your crusades in Enugu! Thank you for impacting the world in a special way! You finished well, Papa. Rest on,” he wrote.
Rev. Uma Ukpai was widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s foremost evangelists, known for his nationwide and international crusades that drew thousands seeking healing and spiritual renewal.
