Armed bandits have struck in another community in Southern
Birnin-Gwari local government area of Kaduna State, killing five people.
DAILY POST reports that seven others were injured, while three of them are in critical condition.
The armed bandits had on Sunday evening killed three persons and abducted a woman nursing a baby, and many others.
The chairman, Birnin-Gwari Vanguards for Security and Good
Governance, Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari in a statement said that the
merciless gunmen overran Kurigi village in Kakangi ward in Birnin-Gwari
local government.
He added that due to remoteness of the area and the proximity to
border with Zamfara State, the news of the killings was not available.
“The five people killed at Kurigi village were buried yesterday
evening under heavy guards by security and vigilantes around 5.00pm on
Monday.
“The armed bandits killed four people at once while the fifth person
died on the way to Brinin Gwari general hospital,” Ibrahim said.
He called the attention of the federal government on the need to
deploy more security forces to Birnin-Gwari to prevent influx of armed
bandits escaping military onslaught in Zamfara State.
