Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has won the Album of the Year award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) with his latest album, 5IVE.
The award was announced following the ceremony held on September 12, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.
Davido, who emerged as the most-nominated artiste at this year’s ceremony with five nominations, beat several other African artistes to claim the prestigious award.
His album 5IVE was up against projects including Burna Boy’s No Sign of Weakness, Asake’s M$NEY, Omah Lay’s Clarity of Mind, Black Sherif’s Top of the Morning Era, Tyla’s A-Pop, Lloyiso’s Never Thought I Could, Leigh-Anne’s My Ego Told Me To and Himra’s SORRY I’M BAD.
Davido also received nominations for Artist of the Year, Best Male West Africa and the Crossing Boundaries With Music Award.
The latest recognition adds to the singer’s awards haul in 2026 and further highlights the international reach of Nigerian and African music.
