Afrobeats superstar Davido has celebrated the victory of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the incumbent governor the winner of the Osun State governorship election.
In a video shared on his social media page, Davido was seen falling to the ground in excitement shortly after Adeleke was declared the winner.
Celebrating the victory, the singer congratulated his uncle, writing: “WE DID IT UNC!!!”
Adeleke, who contested the election on the platform of the Accord Party, secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Najeem Salaam finished third with 17,180 votes.

Meanwhile, another video showing Governor Adeleke becoming emotional while receiving a congratulatory call from Davido has surfaced online.
Shortly after INEC declared him the winner of the August 15 governorship election, Davido called his uncle to celebrate his victory.
Adeleke became tearful during the conversation and reportedly asked the singer, who is currently outside Nigeria, to return home so he could give him a hug.
Davido responded that he would return to Nigeria on Monday, August 17.
The emotional exchange between the uncle and nephew has since attracted reactions from fans and supporters online.
