A 19-year-old woman has been killed and two others injured in an attack at Gana Ropp village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to credible security sources who spoke to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at about 10:45 p.m. on August 14, 2026, after troops of Sector 4, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), responded to a distress call reporting an attack in the community.

The troops reportedly arrived at the scene and found that the attackers had shot dead Miss Asamau Saleh, 19.
Two other victims, identified as Aminu Saleh, 26, and Stephen Monday, 28, sustained gunshot injuries during the attack.

The injured victims were evacuated by the troops and taken to Barkin Ladi General Hospital for medical treatment.
Security personnel have since commenced a manhunt for the attackers as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
The latest attack has heightened concerns over the security situation in communities across Barkin Ladi and other parts of Plateau State.
