Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala collapsed on the pitch during the club’s 3–1 victory over RB Leipzig in the Telekom Cup final on Saturday night, August 15, 2026.
The Germany international appeared to become unsteady on his feet during the closing stages of the match, with teammate Ismael Saibari rushing over to prevent him from falling heavily.
Musiala had reportedly been struggling in the intense heat, with temperatures reaching about 33°C. Shortly after scoring Bayern’s third goal, the 23-year-old appeared disoriented and began wobbling while standing on the pitch.

He eventually started to fall in stages before Saibari helped him to the ground alongside Joshua Kimmich.
Bayern’s medical team immediately rushed onto the pitch to attend to Musiala, who remained on the ground for several minutes.
Thankfully, initial assessments found no major medical issue. Musiala was eventually helped to his feet and escorted to the touchline, where he received applause from supporters chanting his name.

Speaking after the match, Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer said the team would wait for further information.
“It will become clear what it was. But of course we are keeping our fingers crossed,” Neuer said.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl also provided a reassuring update, saying: “The most important thing, he’s doing well!”
Musiala reportedly complained of dizziness and circulatory problems associated with the heat. Initial examinations by Bayern’s medical staff revealed no major concerns, although he is expected to rest and recover over the coming days.
The midfielder is now considered a doubt for Bayern’s upcoming DFL Super Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund, as the club assesses his condition ahead of the Bundesliga season opener against Stuttgart on Friday, August 28.
