Lagos State representative, Danielle Adewusi, has emerged winner of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2026 pageant after defeating 19 other contestants at the grand finale held in Lagos.
The event took place on Sunday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, where contestants competed through various stages including advocacy projects, talent presentations and runway showcases.
Adewusi secured the crown after the final question-and-answer session and was crowned by the President of Silverbird Group and National Director of Miss Universe Nigeria, Guy Murray-Bruce.
Edo State representative Anita Osikhena emerged first runner-up, while Myya Jones of Cross River was named second runner-up. Oluwafunmibi Ajaja of Ekiti and Melissa Toghanro of Delta finished as third and fourth runners-up respectively.
Toghanro will represent Nigeria at the Miss Supranational pageant, while Osikhena also won the Best Advocacy Project award and the Pitch Your Dream Competition.
Adewusi, a medical doctor and women’s health advocate, founded Scrub The Stigma, an initiative focused on women’s health education and advocacy. She studied Medicine at King’s College London, where she earned an MBBS and a first-class degree in Psychology.
The new queen will represent Nigeria at the 75th Miss Universe Festival scheduled for November 24, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Her advocacy project, “Scrub the Stigma,” focuses on women’s health and is expected to feature prominently as she represents Nigeria on the international stage.
