
President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday inaugurated the National Minimum Wage Committee.
The committee, which is chaired by Ms. Ama Pepple is saddled with the
responsibility of negotiating a new National Minimum Wage for Nigerian
workers.
The 30-member committee was inaugurated inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Buhari had on Thursday approved the appointment of a 30-member tripartite National Minimum Wage Committee for the negotiation of a new National Minimum Wage.
The committee consists persons from the public sector, (Federal and
State Governments) as well as Nigeria Employers Consultative Association
(NECA).
Other members include: the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria
(MAN), Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and
Agriculture (NACCIMA) and Nigerian Association of Small and Medium
Enterprises (NASME).
