Journalist Delmwa Gogwim Selected for 2026 UK-MEET Emerging Technologies Fellowship

Broadcast journalist and youth advocate, Delmwa B. Gogwim, has been selected as one of 28 Nigerian journalists for the 2026 UK Media Excellence in Emerging Technologies (UK-MEET) Fellowship Programme.

Gogwim, who is also the co-founder of C-C Pro, will join other media professionals for a week-long residential training in Abuja focused on science, technology and innovation reporting.

The fellowship is funded by the United Kingdom Government through the British High Commission in collaboration with Imperial College London. It aims to strengthen journalists’ capacity to report on emerging technologies and their implications for society, the economy and sustainable development.

The programme will cover key areas, including artificial intelligence, the digital economy, climate change, environmental risks, biomedical innovation, digital health, electronic waste, solar energy and the circular economy.

Participants will also receive training in election reporting, practical simulations and story development, with opportunities to engage experts and improve their ability to report complex technological issues accurately.

Gogwim’s selection comes against the backdrop of her work in broadcast journalism, youth advocacy and educational technology, through which she promotes technology education and youth development.
