Breaking: Three Daughters of Plateau Water Board MD Abducted by Gunmen in Jos

Three daughters of the Managing Director of the Plateau State Water Board, Engr. Apollos Samchi, have been abducted by unknown gunmen during an attack on his residence in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday, January 26, at about 12:53 a.m., following a distress call indicating that gunshots were heard around Dumac Suites in Rantya.

According to a source who spoke to security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, armed men suspected to be kidnappers forced their way into Engr. Samchi’s residence and abducted his three daughters, identified as Nanlop Samchi, Kyenret Samchi and Favour Samchi.

During the attack, the family’s security guard, Benard Makjwan, was shot in the stomach by the assailants. He was immediately rushed to the Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

The source disclosed that investigations have commenced, while joint efforts involving the police, military and other security agencies are ongoing to rescue the abducted girls and apprehend the perpetrators.

However, when contacted, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Alabo Alfred, said he was not yet aware of the incident.

“I don’t have the information yet,” he stated.
