Arewa North Central Movement for Tinubu 2027 Celebrates Nigeria at 66, Nasarawa at 30, Reaffirms Support for Tinubu
The Arewa North Central Movement for Tinubu 2027 has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary and the people of Nasarawa State on the 30th anniversary of the state’s creation.
Nigeria marks 66 years of independence on October 1, 2026, while Nasarawa State, created on October 1, 1996, is commemorating three decades of existence.
In a statement, the movement, which described itself as a group committed to national unity, growth and development, said it is anchored on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The National Coordinator of the movement, Dr. Kyunni, said the organisation operates across the seven North Central states of Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue and the Federal Capital Territory, with coordinators at state and local government levels.
He said the movement is mobilising support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, while promoting what it described as the administration’s reforms and development agenda.
Kyunni said Nigeria’s 66th anniversary provides an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the country’s journey and consider the kind of nation they want to build for future generations.
“Independence is more than a date on the calendar. It is a reminder of our historic journey and an opportunity to ask: What kind of Nigeria do we want to leave for generations coming after us?” he said.
He called on Nigerians to support the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said could create opportunities across sectors including business, agriculture, entertainment, sports and technology.
Kyunni also stressed that national development requires contributions from citizens, strong institutions, responsible leadership and a culture of integrity and hard work.
The Federal Government is marking the 66th Independence Anniversary under the theme “From Reforms to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity.” It has said the celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s journey and consolidate ongoing reforms.

Also speaking, the movement’s Patron and APC chieftain in Nasarawa State, Rtd. DCM Meshach Adigizi Jatau, described Nigeria’s people and cultural diversity as major national assets.
Jatau called on Nigerians in the diaspora to remain confident in the country and support efforts aimed at addressing its challenges.
In his remarks, Engr. Garba Machong Chris said the Nigeria of the future should provide opportunities for children irrespective of their background, improve access to education, empower young people, support farmers and create an enabling environment for entrepreneurs.
Similarly, Rtd. Rev. Josiah Wunis Dapan described President Tinubu as a visionary leader and expressed support for the administration.
The movement said the 2027 election represents an opportunity to consider issues of leadership, governance and the future of the country, while reaffirming its support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The group also congratulated the people of Nasarawa State on 30 years of statehood, calling for continued unity, peace and development.
Nasarawa’s 30th anniversary programme has included cultural activities and events highlighting the state’s journey since its creation in 1996. State officials have also called for peace, unity and collective responsibility as residents reflect on the past three decades.
The movement wished Nigerians and Nasarawa residents a peaceful Independence and anniversary celebration.
