Concerned youths and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State have called on party authorities to immediately announce what they described as the authentic result of the Jos South House of Assembly primary election conducted on May 20, 2026.

Addressing journalists at the APC Secretariat in Jos, spokesperson of the group, Comrade Andrew Dalyop, said the delay in announcing the official outcome of the primary election had generated suspicion, anxiety, and tension among party members and stakeholders in the area.
Dalyop stated that party faithful who participated in the exercise across Jos South expected transparency and respect for the votes cast, stressing that the integrity of the party’s internal democratic process was at stake.
According to him, the group was in possession of documents it believed contained the authentic election results, as well as another version allegedly carrying figures that did not reflect the actual votes recorded during the exercise.
“We are asking for the figures to be examined, compared, and verified. If people leave their farms, shops, homes, and offices to queue and vote, then their votes must be respected,” he said.
The stakeholders warned that imposing results contrary to the will of party members could undermine trust and political harmony within the local government, which they described as politically conscious and peaceful.
They further noted that communities in districts such as Vwang, Kuru, Gyel, Zaang, and Du had maintained political balance and peaceful coexistence over the years, cautioning against any action capable of disrupting the existing unity.
The group alleged that based on results known to party members after the primary election, Hon. Mancha John Vincent secured 4,326 votes and emerged winner of the contest.
Consequently, they called on the National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the national leadership of the party, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and other relevant authorities to intervene and ensure that the authentic result was announced without further delay.
The group also appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that justice prevailed and that the wishes of APC members in Jos South were not subverted.
While urging party supporters and youths to remain calm and law-abiding, the stakeholders maintained that their actions were driven by a desire to protect internal democracy, fairness, and public confidence within the party.
They emphasized their continued loyalty to the APC and commitment to peace and unity in Jos South, Plateau State, and Nigeria, insisting that democracy could only be strengthened when the true will of party members was respected.
