Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel Gapyil, has congratulated Governor Caleb Mutfwang on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the forthcoming general elections.
In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Philip Eplong, the Speaker described Mutfwang’s victory in the party primary as well deserved, saying it reflects the confidence and goodwill he enjoys among party members and the people of Plateau State.
He said the outcome of the primary is a clear endorsement of the governor’s commitment to service delivery, people-focused policies, and his dedication to peace, development, and good governance in the state.
According to him, the result also demonstrates the growing unity and strength of the APC across Plateau State, adding that the party remains well-positioned for victory in the general elections.
The Speaker noted that the governor’s wide support base reflects the impact of his administration in areas such as security, infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, and inclusive governance.
He added that residents of the state have witnessed purposeful leadership, describing Mutfwang as a leader who listens, acts, and delivers, stressing that the primary victory was a natural outcome of his performance in office.
Naanlong Daniel further called on APC members and stakeholders across the 17 local government areas to remain united, avoid divisions, and work collectively toward electoral success.
He urged party supporters to mobilise at the grassroots, saying unity and teamwork would be key to securing victory at the polls.
The Speaker also prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and guidance for the governor as he prepares for the tasks ahead, expressing optimism that Plateau State will continue to experience peace and development under his leadership.
