Albinos in Plateau State Appeal to Government to Include Them in Decision Making

The establishment of the Plateau state disabilities rights
commission has been described a bold step to giving the physically
challenged a sense of belonging.

State commissioner of local government and chieftaincy affairs,
Dayyabu Garga stated this when the chairman albino foundation Plateau
state chapter, Abel Mvenoaga led other members on a visit to his office.

 

The albino foundation was established in 2006 for persons with
albinism and vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities in the
society.

 

The foundation equally partners with disability organizations and
institutions in Nigeria to ensure that person with albinism and other
vulnerable groups are socially and economically empowered.

 

Plateau state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy
affairs, Dayyabu Garga said his ministry in collaboration with all the
17 local government chairmen in the state is to engage them in ventures
that will improve their lives.

 

Garga urge them to accept their condition as an act of God.
Earlier, Plateau state chairman Albino foundation, Abel Mvenoaga said
they are at the commissioner’s office to seek areas of collaboration
with the government to involve them in appointment and decision making.

 

Abel commended Governor Simon Lalong for establishing the Plateau state disability rights commission.
