Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has warned the Clerk of the National Assembly (CNA), Kamorudeen Ogunlana, that she will initiate legal action if any attempt is made to prevent her from resuming legislative duties by Monday, September 15, 2025.

The warning was conveyed in a letter dated September 10 and signed by her lawyer, Michael Numa (SAN).

“Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter stated.

Numa argued that the CNA’s alleged refusal to obey an existing court judgment was not only unlawful but also a breach of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers. He warned that possible legal steps could include contempt proceedings, disciplinary action, and holding the clerk responsible for instigating a breakdown of peace.

“We strongly advise that you reconsider your untenable stance and comply with the Constitution and extant judicial orders,” the lawyer added.

This development comes after Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Yahaya Danzaria, previously wrote to inform Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan that she could not resume her duties on the grounds that her suspension remained a matter pending before the court.
