Oriyomi Hamzat, founder of Ibadan-based Agidigbo 88.7 FM, has publicly apologized to Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and lifted the ban on his songs at the station.
In 2024, Hamzat had directed that Naira Marley’s music be blacklisted following allegations linking him to the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Speaking on air on Tuesday, August 19, the broadcaster admitted his past comments were provocative and asked for forgiveness.
“I am very sorry for all my provocative statements or words to Naira Marley. And now at the Agidigbo radio station, we have lifted our legs up to march Satan and overcome obstacles,” Hamzat said.
He announced that the station would resume playing Marley’s songs immediately, before affirming his decision by playing the track Tesumole.
