Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections is beginning to take shape as President Bola Tinubu hosted Teslim Folarin at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos on Thursday night.
Folarin, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State and the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, confirmed the meeting via his official social media platforms.
The visit has fueled speculation over the party’s strategy for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State. Sources within the APC suggest the meeting may be part of ongoing consultations aimed at positioning the party ahead of the race.
Another party figure, Sharafadeen Alli, is also reportedly being considered for the governorship and has similarly met with the President in recent times.
Folarin, a former senator who represented Oyo Central, remains a key figure within the party as discussions continue over its future direction in the state.
