As part of the Rescue administration effort to ensure that every
eligible registered voter from plateau base in the Federal capital
Territory and it’s environs is not disenfranchised, Plateau State
Liaison Officer Abuja, Pius Yenshi has announced that Governor Simon
Bako Lalong has approved the provision of buses to convey all registered
voters from the federal capital Territory and it’s environs to the
three headquarters of the three senatorial District as from Friday 8th
of march to be returned on the 10th of march to Abuja.
This according to Pius Yenshi is to ease the challenges faced by
families, individuals or groups who will want to travel home to various
locations in the state to exercise the civic duty by voting the
candidates of their choice.
Pius Yenshi while addressing newsmen in his office added that,
Governor Simon Bako Lalong implore every plateau son and daughter going
to vote to use his or her conscience to vote a candidate he or she
believes in with out any fear of molestation and to ensure they report
any case of intimidation to the election security operatives.
He reiterated that every registered voter joining the buses must
provide his or her permanent voter card just to ensure that miscreants
do not take advantage of free ride and back join the buses, noting that
the gesture is to further give credence to Governor Simon Bako Lalong
commitment to always run an inclusive governance by involving every
plateau indigene home and abroad when the opportunity avails itself.
While commending plateau sons and daughters living in Abuja and
environs for being good ambassadors for always making the state proud,
Pius Yenshi stated that Governor Simon Bako Lalong has always held them
in high esteem.
The buses accordingly has take off terminals at the liaison office on
Friday by 8am with that of northern zone terminating in Jos, central
zone, pankshin and southern zone shendam with return journey taking the
same route and time.
The liaison officer used the opportunity to wish everyone and safe trip to and from plateau.
