Four Plateau miners killed in night attack

An attack on a mining site in Dan-Bukuru village, Bokkos Local
Government Area of Plateau State, Sunday left four dead, reports say.

The attack reportedly followed arguments between two groups of miners earlier in the day.

“One of the groups left in anger after the argument and returned in the night with an attack,” a security source said.

Two of the deceased according to him have been identified as natives of the mining host community.

One he said is a Berom native while the other has not been identified.

No suspect has been arrested but the four corpses as of the time of
publishing this report were laying at the Bokkos Divisional Police
Station.

Chairman of the LGA, Mr. Yusuf Machen when contacted hurriedly said, “I
will call you back, I am at the DPO’s office” and hung up.
