Gunmen yesterday laid ambush and strangled to death one Sunday Lale and
inflicted machete cut injuries on Ayuba Lale at Dundu-Maiyanga village
of Kwall district of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Daily Sun gathered that the incident threw the community into mourning as the corpse was brought into the village.
It was gathered that Ayuba who was
injured, is currently receiving treatment at Catholic Hospital Kwall,
while their younger brother Gimba Lale escaped unhurt.
Police Public Relation Officer, Tyopev
Matthias Terna, confirmed the incident and said security has been beefed
up in the area to checkmate activities of armed men in the area. Terna
added that investigation has commenced to unravel those responsible for
the dastardly act.
Member representing Bassa/Jos North in
the House of Representatives, Hon. Suleiman Kwande, condemned the attack
and urged security agencies to beef up security in the area to curtail
further breakdown of law and order.
