Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that Wike’s political camp in Rivers State has reconciled with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Olayinka disclosed that the reconciliation was sealed during a meeting held in Port Harcourt on Saturday, which brought together key political stakeholders including Wike, Fubara, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, and Chairman of the Rivers State Elders Council, Chief Ferdinand Alabraba.

According to Olayinka, the meeting marked the first time Wike’s political family and Governor Fubara met since the lifting of the emergency rule in the state.

“The Political Family is fully united,” Olayinka told DAILY POST on Sunday morning, adding that the meeting symbolized a renewed spirit of cooperation among Rivers leaders.

It would be recalled that six months ago, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared an emergency rule in Rivers State, suspending Governor Fubara, his deputy, and the entire State House of Assembly to de-escalate rising political tensions between Wike and Fubara.

During the period, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd) was appointed as Sole Administrator to oversee the affairs of the state.

Last month, President Tinubu lifted the suspension, reinstating Fubara and the State Assembly, paving the way for renewed political stability in the oil-rich state.
