Renowned journalist and broadcaster, Aliyu Abubakar Getso, has passed away after a prolonged illness.
Family sources confirmed that Getso died on Sunday morning in Kano, where he had been receiving treatment.
The late broadcaster was a familiar voice across northern Nigeria, having worked with several media organizations, including the Kano State Radio Corporation, Freedom Radio, Premier Radio, and Vision FM.
He is survived by three wives, several children, and grandchildren.
According to family arrangements, the funeral prayer (Janazah) will be held at 9:30 a.m. today (Sunday) at his residence near Second Gate, Janbulo, in the Kabuga area of Kano City.
