Tambuwal also used the occasion to explain why he left the APC in 2018, insisting it was because the party refused to “do the right thing for Nigerians.” Now a member of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) opposition coalition, he said the group will soon unveil a comprehensive policy agenda to tackle insecurity, revive the economy, and improve citizens’ welfare.

He criticised the APC-led administration for failing to address key national challenges, arguing that governance has “lacked a human face.” He also reiterated his opposition to the abrupt removal of fuel subsidy without cushioning measures, warning that Nigerians are “paying the price” for that decision.

“This coalition is not about any individual; it is about rescuing Nigeria. PDP, Labour Party, NNPP and others are coming together to give Nigerians a credible alternative,” he said, pledging to remain committed to democracy, the rule of law, and good governance.
