A yet-to-be-identified Nigerian boy has been killed by suspected kidnappers in Anambra State after allegedly refusing their order to sexually assault his sister during captivity.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu disclosed on social media that the boy and his two sisters were abducted by armed men. When their family could not meet the ransom demand, the captors reportedly subjected the children to degrading treatment, culminating in the boy’s killing for defying the assault order.
Gwamnishu described the incident as a “wake-up call” for urgent government intervention, urging authorities to dismantle kidnapping syndicates, strengthen security patrols, and ensure justice for victims.
Reacting, Anambra police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga said the incident had not yet been formally reported to any police station.
