The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
The examination body announced the release on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in a post on its official X account, urging candidates to check their results through the WAEC result portal.
In a statement, WAEC said:
“The 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates results have been released. Generate your PIN and check your results online.”
According to the council, 1,950,726 candidates sat for the examination, with 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 per cent, obtaining credits in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
To access their results, candidates are required to first generate a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and serial number on the WAEC website before proceeding to the result-checking portal.
The release follows the earlier publication of the results for the 2026 First Series of the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.
