A video has surfaced showing the late Mary Habila dismissing false reports of her death just three days before she was found dead at the country residence of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, in Ebonyi State.
The video was shared on Facebook by Habila’s close friend and colleague, Anita Baaki, who said rumours claiming Mary had died began circulating on social media on June 24, 2026.
According to Baaki, the 26-year-old physiotherapist from Benue State responded to the rumours a day later by recording a video to reassure friends, family and the public that she was alive and in good health.
In the video, which has since gained attention online, Habila dismissed the claims of her death, insisting that the reports were false.
However, tragedy struck days later when Habila was found dead on June 27, 2026, inside a room in one of the buildings within the country residence of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, located in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Baaki shared the video on July 20, saying it highlighted the painful irony that Habila had publicly refuted rumours of her death only days before her passing.
The circumstances surrounding Habila’s death remain under investigation, while the emergence of the video has renewed public interest in the case and generated reactions across social media.
Authorities are yet to release the outcome of investigations into the incident.
