Fashion designer and entrepreneur Veekee James has responded to a Snapchat user who questioned why her husband, Femi Atere, accompanies her to almost every event.
Reacting to the comment, Veekee said she and her husband intentionally choose to do life together and do not maintain separate lifestyles.
According to her:
“His life is mine and my life is his. We are like padlock and key.”
She added that while other couples are free to structure their marriages differently, she prefers being inseparable from her husband, jokingly referring to him as her “personal handbag.”
Veekee emphasized that their arrangement is a personal choice and works well for their relationship, stressing that every couple is free to define what works best for their marriage.
A video of her response has since circulated on social media, generating mixed reactions from users, with some praising the couple’s closeness while others argued that spouses should maintain a degree of independence.
