US to Raise EB-5 Investor Visa Fees to $7,850 From November 30

The United States government has approved significant increases in fees for applications under its EB-5 Immigrant Investor Programme, with some charges more than doubling from November 30, 2026.

Under the new rule issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the filing fee for Form I-526, used by standalone EB-5 investors, will rise from $3,675 to $7,615.

For investors applying through an approved regional centre, the initial Form I-526E fee will increase from $3,675 to $7,850, representing an increase of about 114 per cent. The new fees include a $75 technology fee.

The fee for Form I-829, which investors use to apply for removal of the conditions on their permanent resident status, will also rise from $3,750 to $5,000. Regional-centre investors will additionally pay an EB-5 Integrity Fund fee, which will increase from $1,000 to $1,100.

The revised fee schedule takes effect on November 30, 2026. Applications and petitions postmarked from that date will be subject to the new charges.

The EB-5 programme provides a route to U.S. permanent residency for eligible foreign investors who invest in qualifying commercial enterprises and meet job-creation requirements. The current investment thresholds remain $1.05 million for a qualifying business and $800,000 for investments in a targeted employment area or eligible infrastructure project. The new rule does not change these investment thresholds.

USCIS said the revised fees are intended to provide adequate funding for administration of the EB-5 programme, strengthen programme integrity measures and comply with statutory requirements.
