A 36-year-old paramedic in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting to contaminating his colleagues’ food and other workplace items with bodily fluids and recording his actions.
Christopher M. Carroll was sentenced on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after pleading guilty in August to three counts of causing another person to ingest bodily fluids.
According to court proceedings, prosecutors said Carroll filmed himself carrying out the acts at county fire stations and other public safety facilities without his colleagues’ knowledge or consent.
Investigators reportedly discovered videos showing him contaminating a communal coffee creamer bottle, urinating into an ice machine used by employees and ejaculating onto a female supervisor’s keyboard. Other incidents allegedly involved food and equipment at the workplace.
The investigation began after a fire department supervisor reported becoming aware of videos showing Carroll engaging in acts that could expose unsuspecting colleagues to his bodily fluids.
Authorities subsequently examined electronic devices seized during the investigation and reportedly found videos documenting the misconduct. Prosecutors said Carroll had also uploaded some of the recordings to online platforms.
Carroll was initially charged with 20 counts of causing another person to ingest bodily fluids, alongside three counts of malicious destruction of property. However, the remaining charges were dropped as part of his plea agreement.
During sentencing, three fire department employees delivered victim impact statements. Carroll reportedly became emotional in court and expressed remorse for his actions.
The case also prompted Baltimore County authorities to undertake extensive cleaning and sanitation measures at fire stations and public safety facilities, including replacing ice machines and decontaminating affected areas.
Carroll’s sentence follows months of investigation into conduct that prosecutors said exposed colleagues to bodily fluids without their knowledge or consent.
