US Man Accused of Robbing Two Banks in ‘Old Man’ Disguise 10 Years After Similar Crimes

A convicted serial bank robber in the United States has been arrested and charged with allegedly robbing two banks while wearing an elderly man’s disguise, nearly a decade after he was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for similar crimes.

David Sartin Jr., 40, of St. Petersburg, Florida, faces two federal counts of bank robbery over incidents in Largo on August 24, 2026, and St. Petersburg on September 15, 2026, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.

Prosecutors allege that Sartin wore a prosthetic mask designed to make him look like an old man during both robberies. He allegedly approached bank tellers, demanded money and instructed them not to include dye packs with the cash.

Authorities said the investigation uncovered evidence linking Sartin to the robberies, including disguises, clothing, a fake handgun and other items found during searches of a storage unit and residences associated with him.

Sartin was previously convicted in 2018 in connection with five bank robberies committed in Texas in 2016. During those crimes, he reportedly used a similar disguise and the same vehicle allegedly linked to the latest incidents. He was sentenced to 10 years and one month in federal prison and was on supervised release when the latest robberies allegedly occurred.

He also had an earlier federal conviction in 2008 for attempted bank robbery involving disguises.

If convicted of the latest charges, Sartin faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for each count. The charges remain allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
