Former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government and governorship candidate, Uche Nwosu, has dismissed reports claiming that he has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Nwosu made the clarification while revalidating his membership during the ongoing APC e-registration exercise in his ward, Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
He called on residents of his community and party supporters to turn out in large numbers to register with the APC and to support the party at all levels, stressing the need for sustained grassroots participation and political awareness.
Describing himself as a founding member of the APC, Nwosu said he had no plans to leave a party he played a role in establishing.
He further stated that former Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, alongside members of the Rescue Mission team, remain loyal and active members of the APC.
“I remain a committed member of the APC. I will not abandon a house I helped to build,” he said.
Nwosu’s statement follows widespread rumours suggesting he was planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress.
