Residents of Iba, along the LASU-Igando road in Lagos State, woke up to shock and fear after the bodies of two young men were discovered near First Gate on the morning of September 9.
According to reports, the victims were allegedly murdered by unknown assailants and dumped by the roadside close to a canal.
Eyewitnesses said the men were found lying face down, topless, with their hands and feet tied behind their backs. Their heads were covered with blue trash bags knotted tightly around their necks.
A source in the area told Linda Ikeji Blog (LIB) that visible marks suggested the victims had been severely flogged before being suffocated with the bags. It is suspected that the killings occurred overnight.
As of the evening of September 9, the bodies were still at the scene, with residents calling on authorities to intervene.
