Troops of Sector 9 under Operation Safe Haven have rescued a suspected kidnapper from mob action in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at Gidan Mangoro village, where an irate crowd had apprehended the suspect and was on the verge of lynching him before the arrival of security personnel.
The troops reportedly intervened promptly, dispersing the mob and preventing the suspect from being killed.
According to sources, the individual was subsequently taken into custody for further investigation into his alleged involvement in kidnapping activities in the area.
Security authorities have yet to release further details on the suspect as investigations continue.
