Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested a suspected supplier of logistics to terrorist groups and recovered a significant quantity of military-style equipment during a stop-and-search operation in Zamfara State.
The suspect was apprehended on June 24, 2026, along the Sokoto–Gusau Road while driving a Honda Civic vehicle allegedly transporting military-related items and electronic devices believed to be intended for terrorist elements operating in the North-West region.
According to military authorities, troops conducting routine security checks intercepted the vehicle and discovered a cache of items concealed inside.
Recovered items included 150 pairs of combat boots, three jackknives, three electric shock devices, one tear gas canister, a military beret, and a military belt.
Security personnel also seized two Android phones, an iPad, and a digital wristwatch, all of which are expected to aid ongoing investigations into the suspect’s activities and possible links to terrorist networks.
The suspect has since been taken into custody for further interrogation, while the recovered materials are undergoing profiling and analysis as part of efforts to dismantle terrorist supply chains in the region.
Military authorities described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in ongoing counter-terrorism operations, noting that it reflects the determination of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt the movement of equipment and logistics used by criminal and terrorist groups across the North-West.
They also called on residents to continue supporting security efforts by providing timely and credible intelligence that could assist ongoing operations aimed at restoring peace and security in affected communities.
