Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in Taiwo Oyedele as Nigeria’s Minister of State for Finance.
The brief ceremony took place on Monday at the State House.
Oyedele replaces Doris Anite-Uzoka, who has been redeployed to the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State, marking her third ministerial portfolio under the current administration.
Earlier reports indicated that the Nigerian Senate confirmed Oyedele’s appointment on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, barely 24 hours after the president requested his screening.
Before his appointment, Oyedele served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he led efforts to implement major reforms aimed at overhauling Nigeria’s tax system.
