THE PULL-HIM-DOWN SYNDROME OF THE CABAL: SARAKI AND UMAR IN PERSPECTIVE

0

The
Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki since he became Senate
President has refused to dance to the tune of President Buhari and the
Cabal in his goverment. For those who do not know the genesis of
Saraki’s case at the CCT might not understand what has been going on
might; and may easily heap the blame on him, but that is far from the
truth.

Saraki is a man who has refused to be controlled by those
who want to use him to project their selfish interest to the detriment
of Nigerians. Since his refusal to allow President Buhari and the Cabal
in his government to control the Nigerian Senate, they have continued to
fight him on many fronts.

The Code of Conduct Tribubal (CCT)
acquitted Saraki of the charges against him but Buhari and the cabal
were not happy about it and hence continue to project the pull-him-down
syndrome Saraki and the Tribunal Chairman Umar.

You will recall,
that during the trial of the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, had
accused the CCT Chairman of 10m bribery but in an attempt to nail
Saraki, the EFCC dismissed the allegations against him and declared him
for to preside as Chairman.

In a twist of event, the cabal are
upset that Danladi Umar could not convict Saraki successfully, they have
now charged the CCT Chairman with the same 10m bribery allegations he
was earlier cleared of, in a bid to bring down Saraki at all cost.

The
drama in Saraki’s case reminds one of the popular series “House of
Cards”. The politics and intrigues will consume this government in the
end.

Saraki once accused the CCT Chairman of 10m bribery. EFCC cleared him

Saraki’s only crime now is for his stand against herdsmen attacks and his invitation of IGP Ibrahim Idris to the Senate.

Just
imagine what would happened to Nigeria if Saraki had allowed Buhari and
the cabal to control the Senate, things would be worse than they are
now. At least Saraki should be eulogised as a man who has refused to
sell the Senate out for the overall interest of Nigeria.
