Port Harcourt is set to host a groundbreaking event as The Alternative, a National Opposition Movement prepares to launch its activities in the South-South region. The movement, spearheaded by its convener, Otunba Segun Showunmi, will hold a townhall meeting on Thursday, 16th January 2025, at the prestigious Autograph Event Center, Port Harcourt.
The event aims to bring together diverse voices from across the South-South region to discuss pressing national issues, foster innovative solutions, and inspire collective action toward nation-building. Otunba Segun Showunmi, known for his thought leadership and advocacy for alternative governance frameworks, will lead discussions, sharing The Alternative Movement’s vision for a more inclusive, participatory, and equitable Nigeria.
The townhall meeting is expected to attract political leaders, women leaders, youth groups, professionals, and civil society organizations, providing a platform for constructive dialogue on the challenges and opportunities facing the region and the nation at large.
The Alternative Movement expansion to the South-South is part of its broader strategy to build a nationwide network of changemakers committed to driving sustainable development and good governance.
