The tension in jos metropolise have escalated spreading around
Rikkos,farin Gada, and the University of Jos Commmunity– around Bauchi
road.
The students of unijos in quick response to attackers approaching
their hostels resort to self defence before the military approach, –
but information available to newsmen indicate that the soldiers
in an effort to control the situation shot stray bullets which resulted
to the dead of a 300 l law student, who was rush to the school clinic
and later to ola hospital where he was confirm dead…
The university of jos community since the broke out of the 2001
crises have continued to loose the lives of students and staff to the
hostile environments around the campus, despite the series of plead by
the management and students, plateau state ministery of lands and survey
have been accused of selling lands around the campus which in itself
further expose the campus to danger in case of any beach of peace
The speaker of the SUG House of parliament speaking to newsmen confirm the scenario and also plead that the security
of the university should be reconsider. the treasurer of the SUG also
explain that this Friday Along Bauchi park while going to the hostel a
man approach her, trying to kill her but she narrowly escaped .
as of the Tim of filing this report normalcy had returned to the area
while students continue to keep watch of their environment. meanwhile
the state commissioner of police advised residents to remain indoors as
the police is ready to crack down perpetrators of this violence.
