Nigerian music stars Tems and Burna Boy have overtaken South African rock band Seether to become the African artists with the highest number of entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.
The trio had previously been tied with seven entries each. However, the Nigerian singers gained fresh chart appearances this week through their features on J. Cole’s new album The Fall-Off.
“Bounce Road Blues,” featuring Tems alongside Future, debuted at No. 34, while “Only You,” featuring Burna Boy, entered the chart at No. 78. The new entries bring both artists to a joint total of eight Hot 100 appearances — the highest ever recorded by African acts.
Tems has now scored three Billboard Hot 100 entries in 2026 alone, including collaborations with Dave and her recent feature on “Bounce Road Blues,” giving her the most entries by any African artist this year so far.
Meanwhile, Burna Boy has set another milestone, becoming the first African artist to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years, with charting songs spanning from 2021 through 2026.
The achievement further underscores the growing global influence of Nigerian music and the expanding presence of African artists on international charts.
