Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State made an unannounced entrance into the State Assembly complex on Monday morning, further intensifying the ongoing impeachment proceedings that have plunged the state into political turmoil.
According to reports, House members scampered for safety as tear gas was fired outside the Complex.
The development comes hours after a fire broke out at the Assembly Complex at about 10pm on Sunday.
Recall that a fresh crisis had engulfed the Rivers State House of Assembly amidst rumours of an impending impeachment procedure against Fubara.
According to Channels TV, a protest is also ongoing outside the Complex.
