The Brenda Goodall Foundation (TBGF) has enrolled members of the persons with disabilities community in the Plateau State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme (PLASCHEMA) as part of efforts to improve access to affordable healthcare for vulnerable populations.
The initiative is aimed at reducing the burden of out-of-pocket medical expenses and enabling beneficiaries to access essential healthcare services without undue financial hardship.
The Executive Director of TBGF, Sarah Dakas, led the presentation of health insurance cards to beneficiaries in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State last Thursday.
Speaking during the presentation, Dakas said healthcare support remains a key pillar of the foundation’s interventions, stressing that access to quality healthcare should not be determined by an individual’s financial circumstances or physical ability.
She said the intervention was designed to promote a more inclusive community where persons with disabilities can access necessary medical services without the fear of overwhelming healthcare costs.
Dakas reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to its vision of “Neighbour Taking Care of Neighbour,” saying TBGF would continue to extend support and create meaningful opportunities for vulnerable members of society.
The foundation described the health insurance enrolment as part of its broader commitment to investing in humanity and promoting the wellbeing of underserved communities.
