Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has stirred fresh reactions online after launching a scathing criticism of Bola Ahmed Tinubu over reports surrounding a possible second-term bid.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, the outspoken artist questioned the President’s performance since assuming office in 2023, citing economic hardship, insecurity, and rising living costs.
Darlington criticised the administration’s economic policies, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy shortly after Tinubu took office, arguing that the decision worsened the financial burden on ordinary Nigerians.
According to the singer, the current economic realities and persistent insecurity in the country raise concerns about the President’s suitability for another term in office.
“You removed the subsidy immediately you assumed office in 2023, knowing how important petroleum is to Nigerians,” he said in the video, while also accusing the government of failing to adequately tackle insecurity across the country.
The musician further warned that Nigerians could face more hardship if the current administration secures another term.
Speed Darlington, known for his controversial public statements and social media outbursts, has frequently made headlines for comments directed at public figures and political leaders.
