The Plateau State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has successfully conducted a peaceful and well-organized Congress, marking what many have described as a significant milestone in the party’s democratic journey in the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, former Governor of Plateau State and PDP stalwart, Senator Jonah David Jang, congratulated the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for his exemplary leadership and dedication in ensuring a free, fair, and credible Congress for the party.

Senator Jang commended Governor Mutfwang’s unwavering commitment to democratic ideals and party unity, noting that his leadership has fostered an atmosphere of trust and confidence among party members and the wider Plateau populace.

According to him, the smooth conduct of the Congress—where most positions were filled through consensus—reflects the strong bond between the governor and the people. He added that the massive turnout of supporters was proof that those who elected Mutfwang in 2023 remain solidly behind him and are ready to reaffirm their support in 2027.

The elder statesman also expressed appreciation to the immediate past PDP executives led by Chris Hassan for their focused and purposeful stewardship of the party, while congratulating the newly elected leadership under Chief Raymond Dabo. He expressed optimism that the new executives will work harmoniously with Governor Mutfwang to advance the party’s ideals and deliver good governance to Plateau citizens.

Senator Jang emphasized that the success of the Congress was a testament to Governor Mutfwang’s vision and the people’s confidence in his administration, assuring the governor of continued support to strengthen democracy within the party and across the state.
