The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Bassey Ewah, has undertaken an operational visit to strategic locations and flashpoints within the Jos–Bukuru metropolis as part of proactive measures to prevent crime and reassure residents of safety.
The assessment tour covered several key areas including Gengre Community, Central Mosque Terminus, Bauchi Road, Zololo Junction, Gadan Bako, and Gada Biu.

During the visit, the Commissioner conducted on-the-spot security evaluations and ordered the deployment of personnel and operational assets to critical locations to forestall any breakdown of law and order. He also engaged community leaders and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and promote dialogue aimed at sustaining peace.
The police command reiterated its commitment to peaceful engagement while maintaining readiness to apply lawful force if necessary to protect lives and property.
As part of additional efforts to douse tension and enhance public safety, a joint patrol team comprising the police, military, Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies has been deployed. The team is currently conducting a show of strength patrol across various parts of Jos to deter criminal activity.
The Commissioner appealed to residents of Plateau State to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that can assist in crime prevention.

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Plateau State Police Command emergency lines.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of all residents across the state.
