In a sad development and a dark day for Plateau state and the Bako family, as the
death of Wummen Bako – younger brother of the Executive Governor of
Plateau state is reported.
Reports indicate that the Governor’s late brother died around 1:30 am on
Tuesday 26th September 2017 at the Jos University Teaching Hospital
(JUTH) after a lingering illness, but his remains were later moved to
the Nigerian Airforce hospital in Jos.
Until his
death, Wumen was a certified accountant and a lecturer with the faculty
of Management Science at the University of Jos.
He was a
fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and
is survived by his wife, Evelyn Wumen Bako and four children.
Wummen had recently just completed his PhD programme at the
university of Jos and had been engaged in numerous philanthropic
gestures in recent times. He is fondly remembered by friends, well
wishers and family.
Burial arrangements are yet to be announced.
