Former House of Assembly aspirant for Kanke Constituency, Hon. Rotjimwa Yilyok, has expressed concern over the worsening security situation in Plateau State, particularly the recent killings reported in Barkin Ladi and parts of Mangu Local Government Areas.
Yilyok condemned the loss of innocent lives and the continued attacks on communities across the state, describing the situation as deeply troubling.
She called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect vulnerable communities and ensure that those responsible for the attacks are identified and brought to justice.
According to her, the people of Plateau State deserve to live in peace and security, stressing that the concerns and experiences of residents, particularly those at the grassroots, must be taken seriously by relevant authorities.
She urged security agencies to strengthen their engagement with affected communities, listen to residents and adopt proactive measures to prevent further attacks, loss of lives and destruction of property.
Yilyok also commiserated with families who lost loved ones in the recent attacks, praying for comfort for the bereaved and peace for the affected communities.
She appealed to government authorities, traditional rulers, community leaders and residents to support collective efforts towards restoring lasting peace and security across Plateau State.
She maintained that the protection of lives and property should remain a shared priority, particularly at a time when renewed attacks have heightened anxiety among residents in several communities.
Yilyok further urged all stakeholders to work together to strengthen peacebuilding efforts and create an environment where residents can go about their daily activities without fear.
